Tropical Fish Mural Begins

Soon these stark white walls will be transformed into a painted aquarium of darting tropical fish, brilliantly coloured and having a great time.

I block in the fish sort of where I want them, and then begin putting on paint.

For the first part of the mural, I just put a lot of paint on, to make sure there is enough depth, (no pun intended) especially in the colours of the fishies.

Fabric For Pillows

The painted desk in the background looks on as I get my fabric ready for the next project. After having so much time lavished on the it, I hope it doesn't feel sad and abandoned. Maybe its happy to be done, and left alone for a while!

I have decided that this green is the best colour for the
general background for this project.

Here are the sketches for what I have planned. Lots of COLOUR.
This will be fun.

New Mural

Now I have started a new mural project . It is being painted on a client's patio, out of doors. It is a a beautiful location, right on the water, surrounded by orchids and the cry of sea birds.

Early days for this project; these pictures give barely a hint of what's to come.

It gets very bright and rather hot by 3 pm, so I am starting early in the morning, most days (!) and having to wrap it up just after 3 or 3:30, its just blinding there, in the afternoon sun. Mornings are very pleasant however.

Next project....

The next projects are a couple of pieces of painted furniture. Here you see a free standing jewelry cabinet with the base coat of deep painterly colours ready for the next layer. It will be painted all over with colourful tropical foliage and beautiful insects modeling the jewelry...stay tuned!
